I may be having a mid-life crisis. I have not decided yet if that’s what this is. But I have a new dream!
Maybe it’s spring fever, maybe it’s the getting up each morning and sending my children away to school when they and I would all rather spend the days together, or maybe it’s just the monotony of daily life…. but I have been yearning for big changes, the kind that turn life upside down.
I’ve been reading a lot of blogs and watching youtube videos about families that have taken their lives and their children’s education in their own hands and are traveling and living in campers. How amazing and wonderful to be able to see new places and learn by doing and seeing.
I haven’t traveled much in my life. What I have done I’m not even sure you could consider travel as everywhere I’ve been has been for a specific purpose. We are also not a family that has had a budget for large yearly vacations and my youngest children have only been out of our home state once. So now I have a new goal. And it may not be as extreme as giving up our home and living out of a camper….. but I do want a camper and I want to see a little bit of this beautiful country before my children have all grown up and left home.
So the plan now is to continue to declutter and sell the unnecessary from our home and work on some income streams, saving everything I can until we have enough to buy a small class B or Class C rv. I just really feel that this is meant to be and if I can be dedicated to setting money aside, the prefect camper will come available and we will be able to do this without creating debt for ourselves. Baby steps maybe towards something that will make my children’s lives richer and more exciting.
Keep your fingers crossed for us! I’ll need it as my husband thinks I’m crazy! I will try to do some goal updates along the way.
